Tishrei ~ Pomegranate רמון rimon
Pomegranate is a sign of fertility, love and abundance. The Talmud teaches: to dream of pomegranate is to increase abundance, knowledge and good deeds in your life. During the Days of Awe we are asked to do good deeds and make contributions, tzedakah. The Talmud teaches there are 613 seeds in the pomegranate, just as there are 613 commandments. We can interpret these commandments to be especially relevant to our own lives and practice them in meaningful ways. The Days of Awe are a heightened time, we are taught what we do and say during this time has more power than the rest of the year. During this time we can build the world to come through our collective health, seeding gems of transformation.
